Why We Exist

Proud Family Stays began with a moment that exposed a gap that no travel platform was addressing. While planning a multi-family trip, a suggested destination was quietly ruled out with the words, “We can’t go there. They don’t like the gays.” It was a reminder that LGBTQ+ families don’t just plan trips; they research whether their family will be safe, respected, and welcomed. Proud Family Stays was created to build what was missing: a dedicated, trust-based space where LGBTQ+ families can find properties that are thoughtfully prepared to receive them, and where welcome is not assumed, but intentionally offered.

What We’re Building

Proud Family Stays is being built as a curated global travel platform created specifically for LGBTQ+ families.

We are building a trust-based collection of hotels around the world that are thoughtfully prepared to welcome LGBTQ+ families, not just in policy, but in practice. Properties featured on Proud Family Stays are reviewed for the ways they support families operationally, emotionally, and visibly, so families can travel knowing their welcome has been considered, not assumed.

Every part of the platform is shaped around the lived realities of LGBTQ+ parents traveling with children — where questions of safety, belonging, and dignity are part of trip planning. Proud Family Stays exists to remove that burden and replace it with clarity, care, and confidence.

This is not about listing more hotels. We are not a booking site, a mass directory, or an influencer platform.
This is about building a new category of family travel, one rooted in accuracy, intention, and real welcome.
